About the Cover:
Capt. Tom “Huffer” Huff, U.S. Navy, and retired Navy Capt. Robert “Hoot” Gibson, recently got together at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, to allow Hoot the opportunity to fly the Navy F-18 Hornet pictured in the background. Both are lifelong modelers and AMA members and they took the opportunity to pay homage to their modeling roots by including a couple of their models shown in the picture. Hoot became an astronaut in 1979, and has flown five missions aboard the Space Shuttle, four as the Shuttle Commander. He may be best known for his famous handshake in space with Mir 18 commander Vladimir Dezhurov in 1995, after docking with the Mir space station. Photo by Liz Goettee.

Does Model aviation have any target date for stopping the mailing of the paper MA magazine dependent upon members' choice?

Hi Bob- This summer we will offer members a digital version of the magazine and a tablet / magazine app (for tablets such as the iPad). We'll post more information in the coming months.

" Does Model aviation have any target date for stopping the mailing of the paper MA magazine dependent upon members' choice? " I only want that option if they take a percentage off the yearly membership fees. Other than that I love Model Aviation in my mail box every month.

Hi Peter- We are glad that you are enjoying your issues of Model Aviation! This summer we will be offering versions of the magazine for the computer and as an app for mobile tablet devices. While members will soon have the option to view the magazine on a variety of formats, we do not anticipate adjusting membership fees. As summer approaches, we’ll offer more details. Thanks for the inquiry!
