RC Dude has been working with Innov8tive Designs as a dealer/distributor for 18 years now and he is quite possibility the best electric power system guru on the planet!
Excellent discussion! I really appreciate the technical information you provide considering all the variables of props, batteries, volts, amps, power, speed. I have a couple of the smaller BadAss motors and controllers, haven't flown them yet but planning to use them on tethered R/C planes (like control line but without the dizziness). We have space at home to fly on about 42 foot tether line(s) without hitting any of the 100 foot fir trees we live amongst. The Model Aviation "Thingamabob" article of April 1990 planted a seed that stayed with me.
Interesting mix of music and R/C. When I graduated college in 1978 and had more time than money for a while, I got a banjo kit from Stewart Macdonald in Athens, Ohio. They're still in business as Stewmac, with all kinds of tools, instrument components, amp and pedal kits, things that airplane builders will relate to.
I recently purchased a SIG Dornier DO-217 and needed a power system. I know zilch about electrics. I found Innov8tive Designs by accident and was impressed by what I saw. I emailed them and Lucien Miller was quick to respond not only did he recommend a system to meet my needs he told me why. I love the Bad Ass products and will continue to support Innov8tive Designs with my business. Thanks for having Lucien on the show and for all the information provided!
