Ashley Rauen: How did you get involved in model aviation?

Noah Myers: My dad did it before I was born and when I was old enough, he bought me a ParkZone Champ and it just sort of elevated from there. We both fell in love with it and it was sort of our thing to do.

AR: How has model aviation impacted your life?

NM: It’s really added structure and I’ve made a lot of friends. It gave me self-discipline to go out and practice and even do the things that I want. It has given me the energy to fulfill the stuff that, you know, I’ve always wanted to do.

AR: What disciplines of modeling do you currently participate in?

NM: I fly F3K and F3J sailplanes. I guess that’s about it.

AR: What other hobbies do you have?

NM: I am a sailboat racer and I’m a competitive sailor. I also play the guitar, saxophone, and ukulele.

AR: Who or what has influenced you the most?

NM: I would have to say that a lot of people have collaboratively built me up as a community, but to name some specific people: Gavin Trussell, Jody Miller, and Mickey Nowell.

AR: What was it like to compete in the World Championship this year?

NM: It was awesome! It was like it was back in the days when I first started to fly. It was just as exciting, you know, but I got to participate and do well. I love showing off a little bit, and I love seeing my friends again. And yeah, it was awesome.
