The new AVP from Louisiana is Mervin Ory. An AMA Leader Member, he will be covering Southern Louisiana and Southern Texas—and he goes all over District VIII. Melvin has been flying Control Line, International Miniature Aerobatic Club, sport airplanes, Scale, and Pylon Racing since 1970. A member of the Aeromodelers of Acadiana (AOA) club in Breaux Bridge, La., he usually flies with Diane. He is very active, so if you have an event or club meeting, give him a call. His contact information is in the AVP listings on this page.

Welcome the new AVP from Oklahoma, Adam Kasner. He is the VP of the Central Oklahoma Radio Control Society (CORCS) in Norman, Oklahoma. Adam lives in Norman and has been flying Combat and both gas- and electric-powered Precision Aerobatics for years. His contact information is on this page, so get in touch with him for your next event or club meet—he gets around a lot! He’s pictured here with his club’s CORCs of the Year award after achieving the distinction in both 2024 and 2025. This year is the club’s 50th anniversary!

With the Russiansis a book that I highly recommend. It’s about US and Russian activities during the Cold War that involved a man whom I have known for years—but I never knew his activities, which were amazing. We have giantswalking among us! I met two of those giants at Joe Nall Week: the book’s author, Wayne Shuck, with his friend, Billy Slater, from Texas.
