Q:My email is not recognized in the system. Help!
A:The enrollment process can take a short while and is not instant. If you just subscribed, your subscription will begin with the next issue. If you enrolled prior to the release of the latest issue, please verify with the AMA that we have the correct email on file. Sometimes we have an outdated email on file. You can verify your email by calling 1-765-287-1256 or visiting modelaircraft.org. Finally double check that you did enroll to receive digital. Each year by default, members receive Model Aviation in print and must elected to receive Model Aviation digital.
Q: Can I opt out of my print magazine and get a digital version including a tablet app, pdf, and/or desktop/web reader? A: Yes! You opt out of receiving your monthly printed issue and receive our Enhanced Digital Edition. If you give up your print, this subscription option is free of charge and includes an app for your iPhone, iPad, Kindle, Android tablet, and Android smartphone. In addition you'll receive access to the enhanced desktop/web reader which includes a more robust viewing experience and access to PDF files. Learn more at www.ModelAviation.com/digital.
Q: When will I be able to access the latest digital issue of Model Aviation in the library or tablet app? A: Our goal is to have the app and library issues up approximately one week before the print magazine hits mailboxes. There are some factors out of our hands such as the time it takes iTunes to process each issue, but in general expect to access the digital version before the printed issue. If you are a new digital subscriber, your subscription will begin with the new issue.

A: The AMA is a membership-based organization, and those subscribers who are members of the AMA receive additional perks and benefits. This is just one of many benefits of being a member. A: The Open, Life, and Two-Year members are enrolled in a membership category that provides additional perks such as more subscription options to Model Aviation. Q: I updated the app, but lost my past issue. How can I recover them? A: We will be uploading those issues soon. If you need immediate access to an issue you may visit the Archive at https://library.modelaviation.com. You can also call 765-287-125x227 or email [email protected].
Q: How do I get the latest digital edition each month? A:We will send out an email reminder when the issue is ready to download or view. You may be required to enter your email address to verify you're a digital subscriber. Our goal is to have the app ready each month about one week before the print issue is mailed.
Q:Does the monthly issue expire? A: No. Once you purchase the issue, you can store the issue in your digital library within the app.
Q: What is the difference between the library/archives and the enhanced desktop edition? A: The enhanced desktop/web edition is a media rich, user-friendly magazine reader. In addition to much better online reading experience -you can more easily keyword search within issues, watch videos, link to additional/bonus content, quickly jump between articles, download entire issues as a PDF, and share and email articles. The library/archives is more of a research tool to look up content from back issues. It does not have any robust or media rich features, but does provide access to issues dating back to 1975. Non digital subscribers can see a limited preview of the enhanced digital edition at http://www.modelaviationdigital.com/modelaviation/.
Q: Why do I have to pay to receive the All-Access (both print and digital)? A: All members have access to a FREE digital copy of the magazine at https://library.modelaviation.com. This digital library can be viewed on any internet ready device including any tablet.
Unfortunately it is too cost prohibitive at this time to offer both the Print Edition and Enhanced Digital Edition for free. As the popularity of digital readers grow and as we are able to streamline costs we will reevaluate our distribution options.
Q: If I select the digital edition, should I get a discount since I'm saving the AMA postage? Yes you are saving the AMA postage, but that is only a small fraction of the cost to produce the magazine each month. The majority of the costs are wrapped up in editorial and production. The savings made by not printing and mailing the magazine are quickly eroded through costs invested into creating and distributing the app each month.
Q:Can I share the digital issue with friends? A: Yes. We encourage you to share select articles with friends, but they will only be able to view a limited number of pages or articles before being prompted to verify their AMA membership or digital login information.
