iOS App Offline Viewing Functionality Restored

Update 04/20/18: Issue resolved We're happy to inform our readers using iOS (Apple) devices that with the release of app version 49.0, offline issue viewing functionality has been restored and the app is working as designed. Thank you to all of our readers using iOS devices for your patience while we have worked toward a resolution of this important issue.
How do I check my app version? To learn what version of the Model Aviation app you have installed on your device, open the app's "Settings" menu by choosing the blue "gear" icon from the corner of your screen. From within the "Settings" menu, choose "About" and look for the app's version information in bold type near the bottom of the display. If a version earlier than Version 49.0 is displayed, you should update the Model Aviation app to the latest version available.
How to update To obtain at least version 49.0 of the Model Aviation app, we encourage iOS users to delete any existing installation of the app from your device and then install a new copy from the iTunes store, instead of updating an existing installation.
How's it work on iPad? On Apple iPad, readers will be able to simultaneously store four (4) issues of Model Aviation magazine for offline viewing. When the reader attempts to download a fifth issue, the currently stored issue that was downloaded earliest will be automatically deleted to make room for the new issue!
How's it work on iPhone? On Apple iPhone, readers will be able to simultaneously store five (5) issues of Model Aviation magazine for offline viewing. When the reader attempts to download a sixth issue, the currently stored issue that was downloaded earliest will be automatically deleted to make room for the new issue!
I'm still having problems after updating to the latest version of the Model Aviation app. If you updated an existing installation of the Model Aviation app, try deleting the app from your device and installing a new copy from the iTunes store. If you're still experiencing a problem after installing a new copy of the Model Aviation app, please contact us at [email protected] with a description of the issue you're experiencing, or call us at 1-800-435-9262 Ext. 222. We'll be happy to assist you. Update 03/26/18 With the release of the April issue of Model Aviation digital, we are pleased to announce that an update is available for the Model Aviation iOS app that stakes steps toward resolving a bug that has prevented some readers on iOS devices from downloading issues of Model Aviation digital for offline viewing.

What's the problem? The iOS version of the Model Aviation app is permitted to use a predetermined amount of storage space on devices where it is installed, and each downloaded issue of Model Aviation magazine consumes a portion of that available storage. In previous versions, if the amount of storage space required to download an issue of the magazine exceeded the amount of available storage space that the Model Aviation app had available, the issue downloaded would fail, but without providing feedback to the reader. Further complicating the problem for readers, functionality designed to allow readers to delete previously-downloaded issues in order to free up space did not function properly. This created a condition in which the app did not have enough available storage to download a new issue, but the reader could not delete existing issues to create available storage.
What's changing? With the release of the Version 48 of the Model Aviation app, functionality allowing readers to delete previously downloaded issues of Model Aviation has been restored, allowing readers to delete previously downloaded issues to make room for a new issue if an issue download fails. Currently, if an iOS device does not have enough available memory to download an issue for offline viewing, the download will still fail at about 54% complete without providing further user feedback. We are still working with our vendor partner, GTxcel, to improve this user experience. While there is still work to be done, we are pleased to bring this update to our readers using iOS devices and sincerely appreciate your patience while we work with GTxcel to continue to improve the Model Aviation digital app on iOS devices. -AMA Staff

Every time the app is updated, it removes my subscription. I’m a AMA Life Member and receive the MA at no cost. Restoring purchases doesn’t change. In order to see the latest issue I had to purchase it.

Please fix this issue.
